Getting Started on HorizonsMCWelcome to HorizonsMC, our custom modded survival server packed with unique content, systems, and a thriving community! This guide will walk you through everything you need to begin your journey.
Step 1: Install the Modpack
To join HorizonsMC, you'll need to install our custom modpack. Please follow the installation guide here:

Step 2: Resource Pack & Choosing Your Origin
When you first join the server:- You'll be prompted to accept the server resource pack – click Yes.
- Once applied, you’ll be asked to select an Origin. Don’t worry—you’ll have opportunities to rebirth into another origin later.
- After choosing, you’ll spawn in the main spawn area.
Note: If you select an origin that burns in daylight (e.g., Blaze-born), you will take damage in the sun—even inside spawn. We’re working on a custom fix for this.
Step 3: Explore Your Way
Once you spawn in, you can begin your journey however you like:
Open the Quest Menu (top-left of your inventory)- Use
/rtpto explore the Wild 
Check out the Spawn Area
Visit the Information Hall located North of Spawn
Tip: Complete the "Welcome to HorizonsMC" questline to unlock Daily Quests and progress further.
Step 4: Forming Parties & Claiming Land
- Use /openpac-parties to create or join parties, invite friends, and manage group activities.- To claim land:
- Press
=to open the World Map - Right-click and drag to select an area (inside the purple boundary)
- Release and select "Claim Selected" in the menu
Step 5: Player Leveling & Progression
HorizonsMC features a custom Player Leveling and Prestige System. Here’s how it works:- Gain EXP from quests, combat, and exploration
- Access the level menu by pressing
- - Higher levels unlock tougher challenges and new dimensions
Items can break and become unusable until repaired. Check item tooltips and keep your gear maintained!
World Access Level Requirements
Some dimensions are locked behind player levels for balanced progression:| World | Required Level |

Dangers Ahead: Smarter Mobs & Bosses
- Vanilla bosses like the Warden, Ender Dragon, Wither, and Elder Guardian are enhanced and more lethal.- Wild mobs have upgraded AI and scale in difficulty as you level.
- Tiered Bosses and rare mobs roam the world and drop powerful custom loot.
Custom Items, Gear & Affixes
HorizonsMC offers:- A custom item tiering system
- Dynamic affixes on weapons and armor
- Item durability and broken states that reduce combat power until fixed
